The First Home Owner Grant Scheme (FHOGS) is a joint Australian and State Government initiative to help first home owners. The grant provides a $7000 benefit to eligible applicants. Each State and Territory Revenue Office is responsible for administering the grant in their respective jurisdiction. This site includes links to the various revenue offices.

First Home Owners Boost
If you are a first home buyer you may be eligible for additional support from the Australian Government through the First Home Owners Boost. To be eligible for the Boost, you must enter into a contract to purchase an existing home, construct or purchase a new home or buy 'off the plan' between 14 October 2008 and 31 December 2009 (inclusive). Further information about eligibility, application and payment methods is included. While the First Home Owners Boost will no longer be available after 31 December 2009, the $7000 First Home Owner Grant will continue.

Office of the Australian Building and Construction Commissioner (ABCC)
The Office of the Australian Building and Construction Commissioner (ABCC) provides a national service to ensure that workplace laws are upheld in the building and construction industry. The ABCC achieves this by educating industry participants about their rights and responsibilities under workplace laws, investigating suspected contraventions of the law, the National Code of Practice, federal agreements and awards, and instituting or intervening in proceedings when workplace laws are broken. .
