Find government information to help you complete a tax return. If you've used e-tax before, you may now be eligible to use the easier and faster myTax instead. 

Lodging your tax return

Tax returns cover the financial year, which ends on 30 June, and if you’re lodging your own they are due by 31 October. The easiest and fastest way to lodge your own return is online using myTax. You'll need a myGov account linked to the ATO to lodge online.

Tax – update your details

You can update your address, nominated representative and contact details held by the ATO using the online services. You can update your name, gender or date of birth only by phone, mail or in person as you may require supporting documents.
