Australian National Contact Point for the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises
The Australian National Contact Point (NCP) for the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises ("the Guidelines") is the Executive Member of the Foreign Investment Review Board. The Australian NCP was established in 1991 following a review of the Guidelines. NCP's take a variety of forms in each of the adhering countries. The role of NCPs is to ensure the effective implementation and promotion of the Guidelines.
Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC)
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) is an independent government body that enforces and administers Corporations Law and consumer protection law for investments, life and general insurance, superannuation and banking (except lending) throughout Australia. Their purpose is to reduce fraud and unfair practices in financial markets and financial products so consumers use them confidently and companies and markets perform effectively.
National Childcare Accreditation Council (NCAC)
The National Childcare Accreditation Council is responsible for the implementation and administration of the Quality Assurance (QA) systems for family day care schemes, outside school hours care services and long day care centres across Australia.
Office of Best Practice Regulation (OBPR)
The Office of Best Practice Regulation (OBPR) plays a central role in delivering the Australian Government's best practice regulation requirements by providing a 'one stop shop' to assist departments and agencies with regulatory impact analysis requirements, and monitors and reports on their performance. It also serves a similar role for the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) in relation to national regulatory proposals.
