Current International Social Security Agreements
Australia currently has 17 bilateral international social security agreements. Partner countries under each agreement make concessions against their social security qualification rules so that people covered by the agreement may access payments for which they might otherwise fail to qualify.

In January 2006 the Office of Indigenous Policy Coordination (OIPC) became part of the Portfolio.
Disaster Assist
This website has been set up by the Australian Government to give individuals and families better access to information about recovery assistance following a disaster. The Australian Government may provide assistance to aid the recovery of Australians most affected by an offshore or onshore disaster. In such cases, this website will have up to date public information messages, relevant free call numbers, information on Australian Government Assistance Packages offered and links to other relevant websites and information.

Need Staff?
Employers can now tap into a more diverse workforce (including parents returning to work, people with disabilities, mature age people and people who have been out of work for a while) by visiting this website or phoning the Employer Hotline (13 17 15). Australian Government Employment Services network providers specialise in assisting employers to find staff and access a range of government assistance and incentives.
Private Health Insurance Rebates
Families and individuals that pay private health insurance premiums are eligible for the Federal Government 30% Rebate on private health insurance.
Social Security Appeals Tribunal (SSAT)
The Social Security Appeals Tribunal is a statutory body established to review decisions made in relation to social security, education or training payments.
